Wonderful. I’m tempted to use expletives to further drive home how awesome this is, but I’ll leave it at “wonderful”. 🙂
Lol Ian – well thanks!
I love the comparison to Pollock, beautifully done. 🙂
You shine! 🙂 Wonderful poetic balance and imagery!
I like the juicy language of this – there aren’t many poems that get away with saying “pollock”. And yes, I do know it’s a fish, but the word always makes me smile… 😉
I was referring to the painter 🙂
Ooooooh! Of course you were! How stupid do I feel now! lol. Yesterday was a long day, but that’s no excuse. Many apologies for bringing white fish into your lovely poem Jessica! *blushing ferociously now*
Hey, poetry is poetry! If it felt like a fishy kind of day, then there you have it! 🙂
I’m sorry – I’m still laughing at my “Pollock” moment! Let not that detract from your delightful poem. I am but a British buffoon… 😉
This is a great poem! You are motivating me to post more of mine!
Yes I’ve seen “Blue Poles” (we are the same age). I think there may have been something “fishy” about Pollock. 🙂 Certainly your poem conjures up the right images – well written Jessica.
I love the watercolor Pollock and the vertical stance of the poem re rain. Nice work! 🙂
I’m so glad you posted.
