#41

You can make false things true
If you can make them rhyme
Make mistakes into memories
If you bury them with time
You can make beauty into darkness
If you cater to the blind
And turn humanity to heartbreak
If your skin cannot be recognized
You can turn hand-holds into strongholds
If you surrender to their lines
And make diamonds into coal dust
If you disregard your mines
You turn time left into time spent
Counting seconds on the sidelines
And silence into soundlessness
When you’re deafened by the lies
You can turn learning into loathing
When you argue with the wise
And wisdom into folly
If you’re fooled by such disguise
You turn life lived into waves lost
If you flee from rising tides
And woven strength to shredding threads
By seeking peace with open eyes
